Establishment: Aussie was founded by Brian Burgess who came over from Australia in 2000 and after some time, having worked in various different jobs, bought his own vehicle with the idea of providing a man and van delivery service in the metropolis. Buying the van was easy, getting customers appeared to be a little more difficult until Burgess called the Richmond Times to discuss his problem with a young lady in the advertising department. “So what do you do Brian? She asked. Burgess replied “Well I am an Aussie with a van”. The rest as they say is history… Burgess began trading as Aussie Man and Van and by 2011 had over 50 vehicles on the road supported by over 100 men, many of which are his compatriots.
