There is equipment on hand for jammed locks(which may require drilling), locks which are inoperable due to having a key on the inside of the lock(resolvable through using a letter box tool), locks which have been damaged in their use(which could be repaired or if not replaced) and locked out due to absence of the key(we can replace the lock if necessary and provide two new keys for it.) All the above apply to windows, doors but also cabinets and locks on various other internal items including drawers. When necessary we can replace various parts including the handles, locks and any multi-point locking mechanisms(usually limited to UPVC items.) Just advise us if there is a part you would like us to fit or if not we will supply and fit our part accordingly. If you are interested in design modification to your wooden window or door or are interested in additional security we can fresh fit an additional lock of your preferred type to it. There is a degree of flexibility about what can be fitted to these doors, you only need to advise us regarding the type and where you would like it fitted and we can arrange that for you. It is standard to provide two keys with new locks however additional locks can be fitted for you if you desire it. For as long as windows or doors use hinges as an integral part of its function then the possibility of the hinges malfunctioning or dropping will continue to exist. If the window or door is encountering resistance to being fully closed or if it is coming into contact and conflict with its adjacent work surface then the hinges need investigation or the door requires re-aligning. The repair or replacement work required to bring it back to full functionality is determined and carried out accordingly, aiming to return the door to its previously functioning state. Broken panes are a common issue and pose security risks. We pride ourselves on our fast service and ability to provide a professional and excellent quality re-glaze service. Upon arrival we will determine the accurate dimensions and specification of the glass and will install a British Standard quality replacement to those specifications. We aim to fit single glazed glass panes the same day however certain types of glass(e.g. Patterned door panels) and double glazed units require ordering from our suppliers and fitting when ready. We can fit glass with a wide difference in size, specification and height. As the glass is fitted externally in the majority of cases ladders, scaffolding or cherry pickers are used for higher levels to ensure the glass is fitted correctly. If the glass is broken in the night-time re-glazing would not be possible so an emergency board up service is utilised instead. We can apply a secure plywood board either temporarily or permanently over the broken panel for your property’s protection until a re-glaze is either possible or desired by yourself. We carry a number of boards and can cut it to size at the property and fit for you.
